Thread: Feb/05/12 - Gorgeous Dresses for a size 10/12

I found these dresses on Ebay that are beautiful. I'd bid on them, but they're too big for me. Some are Pharonics and one is an Eman. I'm just going to put the link of the all the sellers items and you can scroll through to find the dresses.

the two dresses that she claims are Emans are most definately NOT Eman Zaki designs. Sellers should be honest. Us dancers know an Eman when we see it.

Agree.... The black one *might* be an Abla, though...

I don't think this seller is the owner of the dresses. It looks like one of those places that you take your items to and they sell it for you. That doesn't excuse misrepresenting the costumes, if they are, and I'm not sure that they are.

I agree the black looks like an old Abla. But, I think it's possible that the two that aren't Pharonics could be Emans. Eman makes what I would call a Student Level costumes. Here's an example of one for sale at the bellydancestore. Sim has a student level costume for sale on their web site too. These are costumes you'd look at and never guess in a million years that they're made by those designers.

This is a consignment company. I have bought from one of their stores before (I sold it is a franchise). The people who listed the costumes probably have no idea what they actually have and are going by what they were told.

I saw that black/purple "eman" beledi dress and fell in love! So definitely want it - only problem is that she doesn't post outside of the US!!

I've sent her a question about that yesterday, still waiting for a response...

I don't suppose anyone wants to buy it and sell it on to me straight away?

I've bid on it - I sent her a question about international shipping as well, but when I didn't get a reply I decided to take on faith the bit about international shipping in the listing itself and cross my fingers!

That black dress was my favorite out of the bunch. I also liked the turquoise pharonics. Good luck. Hope you get it.

Just got a reply - int shipping will be $57. Ouch! Still, it's cute and I've been wanting one of them for a while... hope some of the stuff I'm selling on ebay sells first!

FYI, I looked up the postage rates for shipping from US to Australia and if they ship it by the U.S. Postal service, it was $47 for a medium flatrate box and $60 for a large flatrate box. I would think that dress would fit in a medium. Of course that doesn't cover insurance (I don't believe). I'm not sure what shipping method they're using.

I've shipped a bunch of things out of the US over the years and have always found that flat rate boxes via USPS is the cheapest way to go.

found exactly the same info, Shahla, and quoted to the dear lady - also think it will fit in the medium flatrate box :)
