Yes, I just sent a message to Paypal today. I've only ordered from overseas 4 times, but they were all great transactions and I never waited for a costume more than 2 weeks. All of the sellers sent me a tracking number, let me know when it was sent, and remained in contact with me. I'm afraid I might have tested my luck too many times I too hope this will turn out well.

I don´t know where the seller lives - it´s a bit strange, because seller´s country is USA in the first posting, but it´s in the european Swap Meet and you are telling about overseas....

When I send a parcel from Germany to USA with full insurance and air mail they say the delivery could last between 10 or 15 working days - that are 2 or 3 weeks (shipping cost: 52€). So it could least a further week. And after that Vivix-Ara could start an enquiry.... Sometimes it´s quicker...
I could choose a cheaper way (but 36€ isn´t really cheap) - that could take 6 to 8 weeks - and that´s without full insurance. I would never do that, because if the item get´s lost everything is lost (money and costume - and that for just saving 16€).

What did Vivix-Ara tell you?

It´s so .... ... that she doesn´t answer or write anything here.

I´m still hoping that this story will come to a good end.

I think she is Italian!

Yes, her profile said she was from Italy, but now it says USA, so that worries me too. She was very prompt when I asked her about questions regarding the costume. After I sent payment, she sent me one pm that said she would ship that Monday. That was the last I heard from her

that really hurts. I don´t want to do her wrong - maybe she had an accident or sth., but you are asking here for an answer for nearly a week now.
If you wrote her through PayPal and didn´t receive an answer yet I would start an enquiry there - there are still some weeks left then to clear everything - but otherwise you could loose all your money. If I remember right you have 30 or 40 days to start an enquiry - so it is time now!

Hi Shirin,

I started an inquiry with Paypal and she did respond, but sent me a tracking number that I couldn't track and supposedly only tracks the costume in Italy. I am seeking for my money back if it doesn't arrive. Here's another week gone by though, and still no costume. She didn't respond back when I told her the tracking number or website to track it through didn't work. This is going on 6 weeks now, so I don't think I'm getting the costume.

OMG, that´s bad - really bad. I´m still hoping that it arrives and that it´s much prettier in real, so that you will be able to love it and forget all the troubles.
I can´t understand why she doesn´t answer and you had to start an inquiry - it´s unbelievable.

Thanks for your understanding Shirin. I just got back from my honeymoon and I was hoping the costume might be waiting for me on my return, but it wasn't. I would still like to think the best of the seller, but I've had to escalate my claim to paypal and now am just hopeful that I will get my money back. This was a lot of money for me to have just thrown away and since I haven't received my costume, maybe at least I can get my money back.

Nope, I never received this costume.

I regret that in recent months the debate has gone so far here, I had not noticed, and I used the computer less and less. i'm not a dishonest person, and I have the evidence to demonstrate that the responsibility of this “non delivery” is due only to the international postal service. In fact the Paypal dispute was quickly resolved in my favor because I could easily give evidence (with the receipt of items) that the costume has been shipped. I provide to Paypal all the postal papers which demonstrate I followed all the correct passages in sending the package.
Since she contacted me, Bettydances asked me to save as much as possible in the shipping cost so I used the Italian ordinary postal service ( named “POSTA RACCOMANDATA INTERNAZIONALE”) and I could track the package up to the Italy borders (I could produce the evidence of what I’m writing)… so that I could see the package leaved my country and then was lost (I suppose) in the route between italian borders and USA.
When Bettydances informed me she didn’t received the package after a reasonable time I quickly opened a complaint to the post office, and only last week, after my countless reminders, I finally got an answer in which the Postal Office agrees a partial refund of 70 euros for the package lost (I don’t know how they calculate this) … this refund is an admission of guilt of the postal office so that I distrust Bettydances in spreadings around false news and slanders about me and italian people. I could even hire a lawyer to proceed against this defamations towards me and towards the invasion of privacy.
I’m available to give everyone all explanations and evidence of this case, and I’m ready to collaborate with Bettydances for receiving the 70 euros refund quickly from the postal office but I want she to withdraw the false accusations against me because I’M NOT A DISHONEST PERSON.

I would love a resolution. Whether or not it was the postal service's fault for the costume not being delivered, both of us and the Bhuz community know I paid for my costume and did not receive it. Your postal service tried to make their mistake right with you by giving you a refund. If you are an honest person and reputable seller, you'll try to make this right with me too and give me a full refund. I would be happy to let everyone here know we resolved this issue if we indeed do so.

That´s why I´m asking here before selling/sending which way I should choose. If I send a costume from Germany to USA with full insurance and tracking and fast delivery (which means 10 to 15 working days) the price is 54€.
If someone wants it cheaper with tracking, but not full insurance (the refund for the case of loosing depends on the weight) it´s 36€ - I think that´s the way you and Vivix choosed - you would never get a full refund.
And there is a cheaper and much slowlier way without any insurance and tracking - I would never choose that.

When I buy a costume from USA and I want it cheaper and the costume is lost - that´s my own fault. It hurts - I really know that feeling.

I already said I’m ready to collaborate with Bettydances for make her receive the 70 euros refund quickly from the postal office BUT I CAN’T ACCEPT THE IDEA OF BEING RESPONSABLE OF SOMETHING I HAD NOT COMMITTED.
The buyer asked me to save as much as possible in the shipping cost…so I did as she wanted. THE SELLER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PACKAGE LOST BECAUSE THE SELLER IS NOT THE POSTAL OFFICE! The postal office is paid to be responsible of its work! So I can’t give a total refund for a dress I have no more BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MY DECISION TO SHIP THE ITEM WITH AN ORDINARY POSTAL SERVICE! Paypal gave me reason against Bettydances because I could demonstrate I’m not responsable for the lost package and I suppose the Paypal inspectors have the necessary experience to evaluate this question!
Concerning the lack of communication between the seller and the buyer :
I sent the dress on 30 August 2011 AND I ANSWERED THE MAILS OF THE BUYER for giving her assistance in this question. Some time has passed because I know for experience that international ordinary shipments are very slow so every days I hoped bettydances to receive her dress. Then, when all my hopes finished , I wrote betty that I opened a complaint against the postal office and that I would have adviced her as soon as I would have received an answer from the postal office. Then I had some problems in my life that kept me away from this situation between February and march. In this period I couldn’t read the mail and the bhuz newsgroup. Eventually, some days ago, I received the postal advice about the complaint and just when I was writing to the buyer about this partial refund … I found this 3D with all the bad words.
