It is 120 x 90 and I assumed it was accepted because I got a message something like "Your profile has been updated but it will take a few minutes before everyone can see it" I've done it twice, but my old one is still there.

Don't just assume that the picture is the correct size...definitely check its properties (should be 120x120 I think).
