Here's a far fetched idea - some of the "it's okay to be bigger" and "no, anorexia is not pretty" is finally trickling into the pop culture mentality and they're trying to make it all okay. After feeding us a particular image of beauty for so long, they certainly can't overnight say "fat's okay!"
If we continue to see more trending toward "big is good" in fluffy news bits, then we might see a cultural shift away from skinny archetypes.
Who knows.

Here's an alternative to the Omega-3 theory - fat girls become smart because we have to have SOMETHING to enamour us to prospective mates since we aren't quite so HOTT.
Or, fat girls aren't more IQ intelligent, but more EQ intelligent, because they spend more time socially networking (read: counselling their skinny girlfriends on all the boy-related dramas that the fat girl will never have).
Puh- leez. To be fair, I didn't read the article. Because, you know, learning any more of their undoubtedly SOUND and RIGOUROUSLY SCIENTIFIC research might burst my over-crowded curvy-gal head.
I studied Psychology for four years, btw. I have a piece of paper that says so. Biggest waste of time... EVER.
