For those of you who have or have made them, what fabrics do you think work well for this?

Also, Shira, when you sew the two smaller pieces to the larger one, should the place where they meet (if you were imagining a full circle, the center of the circle) have a strong right angle, or should you soften it a bit when you hem it, rounding that a bit? If I were holding the veil, with it behind me, how should the place be that would be at the back of my neck?

I am attending a workshop in a couple weeks, with a segment on 3/4 circle veil...and I have never worked with one before.
