It's a double edged sword, isn't it? Dancing can make us feel so much better about our bodies, but at the same time it can be so unforgiving.
Standing around in clothes with other women my own age (the moms at the college) I look FANTASTIC!!
But in a bedlah standing next to the other bellydancers? UGGGH!!
So in a way, if I didn't dance I'd probably be pretty happy with myself. And my measurements are almost identical to yours, so I have to guess you'd feel the same way?
But you know you can't have it both ways. Love your yummy food & have a liedown at the thought of the gymn OR battle the spread. Not AND. OR.
Right now, I'm fighting (exactly as Sedonia describes above). Love yummy food? Sure, I have many happy memories of it! I figure I might still have five years or so of earning money as a dancer IF I can take those pounds off.
In a few years, I'm going to relax a bit, *just* teach, and give myself over to the beledi gown completely.
