I hear you! A few weeks ago I visited my doctor with a list of my weekly exercise schedule and food intake for the same period. According to all the charts I should be loosing wait like crazy. But I am not.
And my doctor pronounced the words that 5 years ago physicians called a myth--insulin resistance. He put me on metformin, a medication for diabetics and prediabetics to help control blood sugar. I promptly lost 5 pounds. My cravings for sweets has reduced during the waking hours, but at night I have been dreaming about cake with thick buttercream icing. No joke! I know this has to do with my blood sugar. Its lower so I want more, more, more when my weak dreamself is in control. But thankfully the wide-awake self has more control.
Ditching the white stuff has always resulted in weight loss. The secret for me is having the good stuff around to eat so that I can eat something appropriate when I am hungry. And strength training.
