I can tell you how I plan on structuring the workshop, if it helps:

-- Introduction to musical progression of baladi taqsim
-- The "feel" of baladi taqsim
-- Customarily used steps/isolations/progressions for baladi taqsim (breaking it down into the various parts of the musical progression)
-- Improvising to a baladi taqsim progression (kind of mixed in w/ the previous topic)
-- Samples of good BT, if we have time - I have videos that I'm going to bring

I'm also going to prepare a whole bunch of handouts - on the musical structure, instruments, the baladi taqsim "character", etc. I'll also bring CDs of some of the music I'll be using to teach to sell at the workshop.

I hope I can cram this into 2 hours!
