Greetings from Colorado

I've recently started taking classes, so I'm very new, not only to this site, but to belly dance in general. I have so far taken 4 classes: 2 here, and 2 two years ago in Illinois.

I have no idea what style I'm going to end up liking most, and in general, just like dancing.

I have a long history of dance other than belly dance, however: several years of ballet, modern, and tap in high school, international folk dance in college, and a lot of dancing in the SCA over the past 6 years.

Right now, I seem to be very good at picking up the choreography (my teacher and the other students have complimented me on it), but I am definitely struggling with the actual body movements. I joined the class a little late, and they're all preparing for a big event/performance, so there haven't been a lot of actual drills or practice of isolated moves. The teacher assured me that that is not the norm.

I'm very glad I found this forum! I love having a forum to connect to the different pursuits in my life, and I look forward to getting to know people here!
