This is a dusty maroon or burgundy folkloric dress with antiqued brass coins. It has 4 rows of coins along the front of the skirt; rows of coins on the front of the top and trim along the sleeves and neckline. It is nice contemporary assuit. Following how my friend made her antique assuit dresses, I cut (gasp) the dress into a top and skirt so it would fit better and be more versatile. Then you can wear just the skirt, or put the top on an hide the join with your hip scarf. This worked fine for her antique dresses we wore. I ended up wearing the skirt once I think, the top never. There is a small amount of tarnish on a few of the coins, but they are antiqued already. There is a slit on one side of the skirt, but it is held together by the end of the crocheting of the rows of coins. You could nip the last thread of the crochet row to open the slit. The skirt has an elastic waist. $145
now $135 including domestic shipping. Great for Renn Faire or wear the skirt for a tribaret costume! I kept thinking I was going to cut the top into a cute vest or jacket with detachable sleeves...
