Re: What do I wear to Egypt in June?
If you have any desire to ride a camel while there, take at least one pair of loose fitting pants with a loose tunic long enough to cover the hips. The salwar-kameez sets are nice for this purpose, and you can use the sash that comes with them to get your hair up off the back of your neck and up on your head in some form.
In my earlier message, I said that light clothing helps reflect sunlight rather than absorbing it, which is true, but I should point out the negative of wearing light colors - they show dirt/grime more easily. This could be an issue when sight-seeing and wanting to sit on the grass or nearby stone wall while waiting for your bus to come. So, you'll just have to decide what tradeoff is right for you.
Regarding shoes, take an old pair that is very, VERY comfortable. New shoes may give you blisters with all the walking involved in sight-seeing, and you don't want to get them scuffed up with all the walking around. I remember the teen-ager in our tour group a couple of years ago who was quite unhappy after accidentally stepping in a pile of camel dung and permanently staining her brand-new pink tennis shoes.
