20 lbs in a month? Holy cow! How'd you do that? Just salds and lean meats, any fruit?

Not to worry, Maria. I grew up in Colorado Springs and come "home" regularly, so I know the drill. You forgot to tell me to pack lots of lotion and chapstick though!!

Thanks for looking out for your lower elevation visitors. I too have seen many people succumb to the perils of the mountain air!
As for the 20 lbs, no, I didn't do fruit the first month. Phase 1 of South Beach forbids it. You only do phase 1 for 2 weeks, but it's safe to do it longer if you're feeling like you can, so I did it for a month. Basically you eat lean meat and dairy and vegees and nuts. That's about it. I'm on to phase 2 now, which adds in fruit and whole grains as well as the occasional dark chocolate indulgence.
