Here I am sitting with a brand new tattoo myself
I got it done yesterday on my neck, actually to cover up an older tattoo that had faded and the black lines had started to bleed out.
On some spots it hardly hurt, but the higher up my neck the tattoo artist advanced, the worse it was!
She then put some kind of spray on the skin that makes just the top of the skin numb, so you feel the pressure of the hand, but not the needles at all. I was very grateful for that! It took about 2,5 hours, including the drawing.
BTW, is there an English name for lower back tattoos (especially the black tribal ones)? In German, we call them Arschgeweih. Which means "ass antlers"
Since the name came up, fewer people are getting them, I wonder why....
Oh, and don't ask for pictures right now - it's impossible for me to take a picture of my own neck, really! But I'll get one soon.
