I've noticed three big mind changes: 1) small portions or amounts frequently. just a teeny yogurt, fruit or veggie, satisfies; and 2) smaller portions. I don't need to eat a ton of food. a few bites will suffice if it's the right combo of protein and veggie, and 3) NO bread outside what might be incorporated into my meal.
I think one good side effect of this process -- especially using a food log like the one at calorie-count.com -- is that it makes one much more aware of making food choices. Now my thought process goes, "Gee, I'm feeling hungry. What are my options?" instead of just grabbing something. The mind changes are indeed important!!
