Most cases of pulmonary arterial hypertension, however, occur in individuals with no known family history of the disorder. These cases are known as idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Pulmonary hypertension is a specific cardiac condition that is separate from the general hypertension that most people speak of.
Having a non-modifiable risk factor such as family history definitely increases your chances of developing high blood pressure. I'm in the same situation as you, so believe me I understand. BUT you can still do things such as keeping your weight under control, stress management, and balanced diet in order to decrease your chances even if by just a little, it's still worth it
