I would go ahead and reply that you need a D cup since she seems to understand what a D cup is. I would also take a measuring tape and measure accross your breast. Put the measuring tape across your nipples so as to get the widest measurement. Take that measurement in inches and then convert it to cm. So you would be giving her the cup size as well as the size around your back.
