i hope the mineral foundation will work for you, ejaghana. (i'm a bhuz-induced convert!) you might look into the blog on the everyday minerals site. i've noticed a lot of posts there by ladies asking advice/reporting on what colors worked for them (and requesting that new colors be made) - many of the posters seem to be racially mixed, latina, southeast asian, and of other beautiful-sounding richer skin tones. while i'm not really oily, i'm a combo gal, i have definitely noticed better oil control with minerals than with even oil-free foundation (which will still sit on my skin, look shiny, and sit in my pores, eww). i like either everyday's intensive or matte formulas.

another mineral makeup link you might try for inexpensive samples, different colors - http://www.beautyblisscosmetics.com/ . like everyday, their makeup has no bismuth oxychloride - theirs is even mica free if you're very sensitive.

i have tried a couple of mattifier products, though it was quite a long time ago - personally, they didn't work for me at all. they looked fakey and clogged my pores even though they said they wouldn't. unless there is something a lot better on the market these days, i'd skip them and find a foundation that really takes care of your skin situation instead of something to cover up.
