I´ve had spiral curls perm twice and it ruined my hair (and I have very strong hair), so I don´t recommend it. I had to cut my hair eventually to make it look good again.

I use clip in extensions. It´s easier than it looks, only takes me about 10-15 minutes to put in and it looks very natural. Here´s where I bought mine, these are great quality and human hair:
