Lucy - I know that you are a vegetarian as well and Al's chiropractor and nutritionist told me that I am having so much trouble losing weight because I don't consume enough protein. So, I have started drinking low carb, low calorie protein shakes or eating protein bars. (No, that is not all I eat!! I have those as a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack.) I won't kid you - the protein shakes are not all that great, but they are not horrible. They kind of taste like SlimFast shakes... I have two shakes or two bars a day. They make both whey and soy protein shakes/bars.

Al and I also joined a gym - we met with a personal trainer and that was fun, let me tell you! Nothing like finding out your body fat percentage!!! Yikes! And of course, getting on the scale during period week is frightening. I was 5 pounds heavier than I was last week!!!

I will keep you posted on our progress. Al wants to lose 40 pounds!!! Me...10-15.
