I'd rather spend 600 dollars on a pretty, slightly used pharonics and donate 700 to charity myself. I just can't see the point of spending that much money on a costume no matter what - the only way I'd do it is if I was professionally dancing somewhere and had to have the "latest" of things. To collect for fun? no way, my retirement fund or animal groups need the money more.
I enjoy looking at pretty things though - I can admire the construction of a Chanel suit without having to own one.
