So! I'm on the Heartwalk team at my workplace. This is good because it has made sure that I keep up with my walking as I'm one of the people this year who will actually be doing the walk.
The bad thing is that last night I had to make TWO texas sheet cakes for our fundraiser lunch tomorrow. Chocolate cake is my ultimate downfall!!!!
I did a few smart things though - I ate dinner BEFORE I made the cakes so I wasn't actually hungry while baking (and could logic my way around what my stomach wanted me to believe). Plus, I had made some jello the other night so I stuck a spoon of that in my mouth when I was getting overly tempted by the sugary goodness that lay all about my kitchen. Not nearly as satisfying as chocolate, but it kept me from licking the ENTIRE bowl of batter. (I did have a taste, but only one!)
I'm so proud! I've never been able to resist chocolate cake before this! Woo! I just kept thinking of the gorgeous costume I'm buying myself when I get to goal weight and that helped tons.
I know I say this all the time, but I do mean it: you are all inspiring me on to better choices and a healthier, trimmer me! Go us!!
