ohh I love Nagwa too! <3

ok so I'm kinda jumping into this debate here, if what I say has already been said, please don't kill me. :p

One day for fun I went into this store that was obviously selling to strippers in the local area. I saw some funky high heels and outfits. But what really surprised me was how similar a few of the "costumes" looked in comparison to some Sahar's i've seen. It actually turned me off her costumes a bit (I've owned 3, none are as risque as what her new stuff is like) Specifically her new "halter-style" top with the clear strap holding it together in the center, YUKKK! I feel like she just keeps thinking "how much more can I charge for less *fringe/fabric/beading*"

For the most part she is a wonderful and original costume designer and I like most of her stuff, but I find some of her newer stuff to just looks trashy. :S A lot of belly dancers are very concerned with being lumped into the "stripper" category, so why are we buying costumes from Sahar for big $$$$ that I can go and pick up at "Blondies Boutique"? They look the same! (and the store was actually called that btw)

I agree with the many others on this thread that when I don't have to worry about a dancer flashing me her naughty bits I feel better watching her dance. And I don't mind some leg, or cleavage, or even undies showing when its more or less meant to be part of the costume, (kinda like the way ballet leotards look, know what I mean..?)

and what is up with the new Pharonics costumes with the cut outs on your ass!!! whhhyyyyy!!!?? how distracting will that be when you dance! jeez!

ok so maybe I'm young and stupid and don't know what I'm talking about, and I bet 10 people will disagree with me or be offended (which I did not intend at all, so I apologize in advance if something I wrote wasn't explained very well) ...but that is what I think...

:)
