it totally depends on the mom, but in general, if you're nursing, the weight will come off easily. I was 142 when I got pg with my daughter. when she was 6 months old, I was 132. now she's 5 and my son is almost 1, and I'm another 5lbs below that! it contributes to the weight loss factor if you're a sahm - you're so busy taking care of everybody else that you forget to eat.

body-wise, my waist is thicker, and my boobs are ginormous. hopefully they'll go back down in a year or two so they don't scare people so much.

with both kids: with fairly casual dancing - 2-3 gigs a month, maybe dancing once a week - I felt like I was back in fighting form by one year. I feel like I've got my core muscle tone and "snap" back, finally. and I look good in my costumes. I looked fine at 6 months, but now I feel more like my regular pre-baby self.

if you're swimming and out in the water, you'll bounce right back! women's bodies were made to bear children - and to recover from it and go back to normal.
