I have covered an entire bra and belt that had a lot of stones and prongs with about 5 coats of clear nail polish and after a year it is still bright and shiny. I did a test on a small part of the costume before I put so much polish. My costume no longer snags on anything. The type of costume was a heavily sequin rhinestone Turkish costume from Turquoise International.
