I've always been told that weightlifting is the fastest way through a plateau, because the muscle tissue you create will burn more calories at rest than the fat tissue you're replacing.

It worked for me once, I'll try it again!

I'm in a holding pattern, too. Actually, if I'm being honest, I'm in a gaining pattern, and it'll only accelerate as the holidays approach if I don't get serious FAST.
