Greetings all

I've been dancing since 1980, taking breaks here and there but on more than off. I live near a small town so am definitely a rural/small town dancer, having fun, dancing well and enjoying it all rather than trying to be A Pro who is Bellyer than Thou (those types annoy me).

I was 26 and saw a friend who grew up in Lebanon perform and thought "I want to do that". 27 yrs later, here I am. Still dancing and recently started teaching our beginning classes again after a couple yr break due to a head/neck injury (stupidity and freak accident combo hurt). The break due to my divorce proceedings (avoiding "omg, you dancer, you slut, you unfit mom" stuff then) was easier in a way.

I appreciate most all kinds of belly dance, and all levels, so long as you enjoy what you do, do what you enjoy, and are a friendly sort.

Oh yes, classes from Delilah, workshops from Badawia, Bobby Farrah, Aunty Rocky, Hasani, Saqra, probably more but it's been a fun variety. I've danced with the Rubiyats, Q'fada, les Filles des Julia (after Julia Child's "serve it to them anyway" attitude) in WA, Daughters of the New Moon in AK, and whomever else I could get together with.

So, I'm glad to have refound Bhuz and am looking forward to meeting all you Bhuzers. Raq on!
