I use DVD Shrink to extract the footage from the DVD into a VOB file, then use AutoGK to turn the VOB into an AVI. Finally, I edit and add titles with Windows Movie Maker (comes standard on most Windows machines) and turn it into a WMV to compress the file size down managably, and that's what I upload to YouTube.
