I agree with you - I'm sad. I know they drove some people nuts, but I liked them. Sigh.

I'm sorry, but I'm happy they are gone! It looks so much cleaner now, more like a real message board and not some 14 year old girl's website.

I also noticed it, much more peaceful now for my eyes, they do not need to jump there and back all the time.

They only seem to have gone on the Forum pages, for me at least. I'm still seeing the stars on the rest of the site.

me too
I liked them - I like shiny new things - but I have a fast computer and connection so no loading issues (knock on wood). I also have lots of computer use patience.

They're just not on the discussion side. I think it's a great compromise!

I am a web builder and when I started I was all about the hype, glitter and stuff. When I fianlly started looking at it the flying objects, mouse tails etc are not very user friendly. They just seem to annoy the eye.s I just join so I don't know how distracting they were but I see why they would take them away FLASH issues.

Great compromise, removing them from the forum pages but keeping them on the other pages. Bhuz loads faster when I'm using the dial up connection.

the pages load SO MUCH better without the stars. using the forum is much easier now... my computer died, and I am currently on an unsophisticated laptop that is a few years old. the old forum usually made my browser hang and I would get so frustrated!

The falling stars are on my screen, although I did notice that they weren't there yesterday, they are there today.

To be honest, I'm glad they're gone. I like things that are simple, fast and easy to use and I found your post very interesting Devi.
