Customize is not working

I've tried so many times but the settings will not stick. I'm not on myspace so I can't transfer anything.

Lets start with something simple.

Find a .jpg or .jpeg image on your computer to use for your background. It can be big, up to 900 x 900 pixels.

Then set background color and background main to "transparent".
Then click "save'

You should get two messages on the next page, something to the effect that your background image was uploaded, and that your profile settings have been updated.

For some reason, some background images won't take, I had to try several times to get one that would work.

Give this a try to start.

The other alternative is to write a style sheet, which takes a certain amount of expertise. Iceland is happy to help you. Send her a PM and she will help you create a style sheet so you can get your profile as pretty has hers is.

Im puting here what I did on my profile. This will working if you want a dark color profile, if you want more colors, then I recommend you first do what im publishing here, and you can try to understand first how works. Im trying to do easy as possible for you.

Here it is what you need to do to make your profile looks great!!!

Click in MY BHUZ...then you will see 3 option (click in MY ACCOUNT)
then finally DESIGN MY PROFILE.

No, Shirin, it isn't just you! I tried the same thing that Iceland put down . . . nothing. I tried to upload different size photos from my computer while only making the first 2 transparent . . . nothing. It sure is frustrating.

I work on a computer all day long, but this isn't the type of coding I do, LOL, so I am as much of a dork as anyone else when it comes to figuring out this stuff.

An error message might be nice, but I am not sure it would keep me from banging my head against the computer

Ok, I've done EVERYTHING as outlined above (twice) and it still isn't working...not even the colours are changing onscreen let alone a picture I've selected coming up....and now I've gone back in to the design my profile screen and all those colours and transparencies I've included aren't showing at all (yes, I did save!!).

Also what is the difference between 'background image' at the top of 'design my profile screen' and the CSS instruction?

Ok, I've given it another bash today and it's still not 'taking'...leaving alone the issue of background picture I've been trying to change text colour etc and nothing is changing...

thought I'd better ad...I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 and I'm clearing out my cache etc prior to trying to change any details.

I'm not going to be much help with this -- Josy is the expert. Send her a PM, and email her the picture you want to use and she will create the style sheet for you to put in the css box at the bottom of the page.

I was able to put my picture up by uploading a picture that is stored on my computer (it didn't have to have it's own URL) and making the top two choices "transparent". That part is important.

I did the same for member ronline, for that I used a 250 x 225 pixel picture that was on my computer -- and the top two choices transparent.

It is important to reset the page if you have put up a picture that you don't like, otherwise the page may get stuck on that picture. The reset feature is at the top, it says "click here".

Also, use the BB code that you will see when you click on that link to edit and dress up your text.

You don't need to register for them to use most of the functions. They may ask for your myspace page if you register, but you can just make somthing up, it won't matter if you don't have one. Bear in mind that some of their functions won't work on this site.

They can generate code that you can put in your "my profile settings" boxes. I am experimenting with them now, not all of them work, but some do.
