"I think of bhuz when I...."
Every once in a while, I use something I learned on bhuz. Sometimes in my dance life, sometimes in my mundane life. I thought it might be fun to have a thread in which we compare notes on things we now do that we otherwise might not have done if it weren't for bhuz.
I'll start.
I think of bhuz when I: - Use my neti pot (never heard of 'em before bhuz)
- Put a line item in my recital guidelines for students that says, "You must wear panties under your costume"
- Fix roasted root vegetables for a meal (thanks, Dani!)
- Watch Estelle's video, The Enchanted Dance. (thanks, Carolynn, for steering me to it!)

Of everything I put in my student troupe guidelines, that was the one thing I got the most comments on. No one could believe that I would find it necessary to spell that out, and my only response was, "You should come spend some time on Bhuz!"
I think of Bhuz whenever I'm looking at a costume, espcially one that I'm not 100% sure if I like or not, right off the bat. I worry about buying a UBDC!

...get up in the morning...it's pathetic, but I check it every morning. It's like spending my first cup of coffee with belly dancers in conversation. Nice. The first things I learned from Bhuz were the flutter (plunger technique) and zill patterns, and that I was woefully lost as a beginner, but there was a place to ask questions if you were really brave. Yea Bhuz!

Same here! Reading over the threads is a nice way to start my day and help me focus before getting busy at work.
I think of bhuz whenever I talk about international belly dancers - the big Egyptian names, or even well known dancers around the United States and Europe. Bhuz has really helped me learn about other dancers around the world, more so than I could ever find out by myself.
Whenever a dancer's name comes up that she hasn't heard of, my friend Lisa always turns to me and goes, "So, do you know her from Bhuz?"

In addition to all the above dance-related stuff, I think of Bhuz when I put on makeup.
I really enjoyed makeup when I was a teenager. But I went through a phase of probably 10 years, when I had kids & a home-based business, where I just didn't bother on a daily basis & was a frump.
Now I'm all into wearing cute clothes, girly shoes, and having fun with makeup again! I'm in the process of switching from a pink glow-y look I enjoyed for summer to a muted rockabilly look for fall. It's all FUN again. Thanks to Bhuz for turning me on to Sephora, Mac, and lip plumper!

...talk to a fellow Bhuzzer and inevitably we start talking about other Bhuzzers. And the men in our lives have no idea who we are talking about... No, wait! I think my boyfriend must already have met dozens of them!
But I admit, at the moment I don't spend that much time thinking about Bhuz. Too busy surfing and shopping in Wakiki... (of course I am staying with Willow of Bhuz... )

- When ever I play my zills, because my Secret Habibi gave them to me last year.
- When ever I give myself a treat and let my boyfriend make me a Cosmopolitan, because my Secret Habibi from two years ago made me special martini glasses that say "Shimmy" and "Hip Circle."
- When ever I'm down and need advice or a pep talk, because the people here are so supportive.
- When ever I miss Illinois so much I wanna cry, cuz I know I can come on here and see a ton of familiar faces
- Any time someone does something unjust, or unethical and a "3 AM Zill Brigade" revenge fantasy pops into my head
