I can't tell for sure, but I think This dancer's wearing HUGE, bright yellow platforms! Didn't know where else to post this, but wanted to share it ... guess everyone's got to have a gimick?

I like the rest of her costume, it's gorgeous.

Actually, this is the style of shoes EVERY Turkish dancer wore until just a few years ago.
OK, so this is a Lebanese dancer, but to "what was she thinking?" - fashion, baby!

Some of the comments on Youtube are just mind boggling. "Only people with taste will be able to appreciate her beauty. Great moves"

It should read: Only people who know nothing about proper technique would be able to appreciate most of the dancers hired for this game show.
Geez, I couldn't get past the stiff hands and flappy arms long enough to look at her shoes.

Wow. Had no idea the platforms were a whole fad. It's got me thinking, though... This is the answer to all my shorty problems!! With these shoes, I could wear all ranges of costumes! From 33" long to 40" long!



That show really does highlight some amature dancers. Her karate chop arms were pretty hard to get past!

According to the DVD that i have of her, Mark is correct. It says her name is Asmahan.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like the platform shoes. (I call em "stripper shoes though) I'm very short and I got a pair off of Amazon last summer, and I feel so tall when I wear em!

But now, I would not wear em to perform because I KNOW (not I'm worried, I know!) that I would fall on my face and embarrass myself!

her costume is beautiful!!!! i would love the same thing but a little more coverage on the top and with the skirt. is there a name for that type of belt style?
