starting this thread again about my friend and a beautiful graceful and stylish dancer - about NOUR!

and i'm starting with the most wonderful news! Let's congratulate Nour and Yasser with a baby!!! she's a girl and both mama and the child are fine.

I recently got her instructional DVD. I like her dancing style and she has such a lovely smile.

I love Nour. She's an amazing dancer and it's always good to hear that people are wonderful people too.

I love Nour's dancing! Her technique is so crisp, and she's gorgeous, with great expression. Always thought she was underrated -- maybe because she's not actually Egyptian? She sure dances like an Egyptian!

I was browsing throught the swap meet pages and came to this thread

Which then led me to this page where I made the purchase. It is the first dvd on the page

The DVD is in Russian but came with an English translation on paper. She goes over some technique but not as much as I had hoped for. She does 3 or 4 choreos. She doesnt break the choreos down but goes over some of the technique. She does each choreo twice, once in practise gear and the other time in costume.

She does Saidi, Classical, shaabi and i the other.

I really like the DVD although I excpected more technique. I like her style and she is gorgeous to watch.

As for the DVD i like it too and the curious thing about this DVD is that it was filmed and montaged guess by whom? by Mahmoud Reda personally! in his own studio :)

If you have any translation problems for the DVD - i can help you out just tell me what place needs to be translated.

She did do workshops (well, private lessons)! She was eight months pregnant and doing classes in California, can you believe it?

Oh, I wish we in California were notified in advance that she was teaching workshops. No one advertised it or let us know, otherwise there would have been a bunch of California dancers (including myself) who would have loved to take a workshop with her.

I live in Georgia, but would have travelled to California for Nour! Things like this really need to be advertised.

I see she is doing a workshop at the June nile group fest also. I have to do that one! I love her as she has such grace as a dancer....and congrats to her and her family.

i've had some phone conversations with Nour through yahoo messenger and she's feeling great and very happy to be a mama ;)

she asked me to post here that there's was no workshop in US yet - she only did personal lessons.

Thanks for clarifying, that, Nuringa. It's good to know we didn't miss out. (Though I'm jealous of whoever had the private classes...) I hope you mentioned to her that there was a lot of interest about her and that a bunch of us would love to have her come to the US for workshops! :) Also, just wanted to add my congratulations about the baby. Thanks for being so conscientious and keeping us posted.
