I'd consult chicagomecda.com, but I don't really recall a lot happening, besides normal classes. I know at Arabesque, someone named Moxie is teaching an expressions workshop and there's a skirt making workshop.
lame question, but would anybody be able to tell me which upcoming events for July and beyond in Chicagoland are actually near the city?? ordinarily i don't drive and it would be stellar to be able to make a show or other event via non-day-consuming public transit.
it sounds so damned selfish, i know! sorry!

I'm the same way. I don't even have a license! I figure, though, if I just limit myself to stuff in Chicago, I've saved myself a lot of money.
Sometimes, you can carpool with people. Obviously, be safe with that.
The Shimmy in the Back Yard is definitely ON!! July 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. I'll have deets up on my website soon Diva Ventures || Chicago Suburban Belly Dance Classes | Workshops | Hula | Roselle, but if anyone wants info prior to that, email me at donnadiva at sbcglobal dot net, and I'll send you the flyer that is going out to everyone tonight.
For you Chicago ladies, the venue is at Banbury Fair in Bartlett -- right across the street from the Bartlett Metra train station! Not sure which Metra line it is that runs from the city to Bartlett (I rode the West line for 22 years), but I'm sure you could go to Metra's website and download the weekend schedule. Banbury Fair's website is Banbury Fair Antique Barn Painting folk art classes Gifts Boutique Ice cream Parlor Window Screen Repair for directions. The address is 211 Rail Road Avenue, Bartlett, IL.
I'll post the flyer for this event on Bhuz later this evening. Hope to see some of you at Shimmy in the Back Yard!
Donna
