FYI, this was my first sword. ;) Its already notched too at it's balance point. I didn't mention that! I found it pretty easy to work with; the weight helped!

No, it is unsharpened (it's cut to make it LOOK like it's shaprened but its not)but the point still is sharp on the tip edges.
