Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
What an annoying ebay listing! No sizing and you can't even tell what the picture is of! Grrr. Maybe I'll do the honors and ask her for a more complete listing. I've been interested in this costume for a while. I loves me some cabaret pants costumes! :-D

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I just did, - I don't even know if I am interested, but it was weird to have have someone list a picture with wich you have no idea of the style, what it looks like, etc. I don't feel like going to Audrena's site and browse through them to look this up.
Also no measurements.
She said there's some wear and tear on the costume - ok, but what?

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I remember someone here on Bhuz listing a costume just like it in pink. The whole pants thing just doesn't do it for me, but depending on how much wear and tear there is, $300 wouldn't be a bad deal. If you follow the link in her listing to Audrena's site, it does take you directly to the costume so you can see what style it is. The one on Audrena's site is pink, but you'll get the idea.

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I often test ebay sellers by sending questions - if I don't get a timely answer or don't like the tone of it - I don't look at their stuff again. I think communications or lack thereof can be very revealing.

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
Here's what she emailed me (darn, would never fit me!) -

Hi, it fits a size 6, 5'4, 34B without any adjustments. The bra cup does have a little extra room, might fit a C. The belt is 27" relaxed and the train falls right below my ankle (forgot to measure the length)....:)

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
She responded to my questions on eBay with exactly the same response as phillyraqs. It answered about 1/2 of my questions- nothing about wanting details on the minor damage. But, since I know it won't fit me, I don't really need the additional info.

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I just noticed that along with adding a picture of her dancing in the costume, she updated the listing to include sizing and a bit of info of the damage. At that price, I would be interested in it, if it would fit. But a 34B will NEVER fit my 36D's!

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
you know what - I really did not like the idea of the pants but it sounds like this is a rather versatile costume. Interesting

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
Ravena - a dancer in Philly has this costume, and it is stunning in person - I totally covet it. I'm not into pants either, but it really looks good on stage.

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I got pretty much the same answer, too:
Bra fits a 34B with a little room in the cup for padding or might fit a c. I am 5'4 size 6 and it fits perfect without any adjustment. The belt is 27" around relaxed, the train comes down right below my ankle (forgot to measure the length).
I asked her how long the pants were, and she can't even run to her closet to measure them before sending me this email? She "forgot?" She seems very new at selling costumes!

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
I don't like it when someone uses her height as a reference. I am 5'7" (on good days 5'8" :) and I had a friend who was about 5'3". However when I was helping her sew a skirt and measured her hip to ankle length, it was the same as mine - even though I have long legs, apparantly she had even longer for her height :).
So that's just not good enough, I like it when someone lists th inches of the length, and then may add that she's 5' whatever and fits her well/little long, etc.
Also when someone doesn't respond to my questions, I take it as a sign of their habits of communication - if something went wrong with the sale, I would probably never hear from them again.

I have a friend who's husband is just about a foot taller than her, yet their inseam is about the same. So I agree, a dancer's height is nice to know, but really doesn't mean all that much.

Especially when you're all torso, like me! I'm tall for a girl (5' 9") but I'm like a weiner-dog!

Re: ebay watch- pharaonics
Hmmmm... lack of response coupled with lack of information... maybe $300 is not such a "good deal" after all...
