No missing stones and the holographic silver on white lycra fabric is in new condition.

I bought this while in Egypt, then wore it only twice in restaurants and once for the photo shoot indicated in the shots above. I kept WANTING to wear it, but the thinness of the lycra fabric made me feel shy. Due to the sexy white mesh cutouts, I couldn't resolve this with my usual Donna Karan undershorts, so I decided that maybe adding a drape insert in the slit of the skirt of gathered light blue chiffon would help. Still this costume didn't seem to want to get out of my closet.

That drape was added after the photos. It does add some class; I did a great job on it (if I do say so myself), even loop beading all the seams to minimize fraying. However, this addition can easily be reversed with a seam ripper.

I should also mention that, given my obsession for ensuring a tailored fit, I've added elastic all the way around the skirt, and all the way around the rib cage of the bra (no gapping). Lastly, I have had to replace several tassles, in which I've incorporated a few better quality beads (crystal instead of plastic, metal instead of metallic paint on plastic).

wow - this is so pretty. You mention that the waist is 27-32. What is it if you take the elastic out? You also mention thinness. Is the fabric really that sheer?

Without elastic, the upper hip/waist will probably expand to 34". Personally, I find that this style of costume looks "right" when worn fairly high. I got the 32" maximum by stretching the elasticated waist all the way out, then measuring.

The lycra fabric is about the same weight as any other similar Egyptian costume, but being that it has a white foundation, it can offer a glimpse of the outline of the thigh in strong lighting. Depending on where you dance, some sort of tights or bike short foundation might be recommended. In a nightclub gig (which I'm doing a lot less of) all of this would be irrelevant.
