I bought this dress several years ago intending to use it when I got a shamedan. Then came menopause. Then I got the shamedan. But you guessed it, I can't get into this dang dress any more and I doubt I ever will, so it's going to move on. I bought it new and it has never been worn. For this type of dress I think it's an especially glam and sexy design. <sigh>
Leopard print lycra with a spectacular golden holographic finish. All edges have crocheted gold bead trim. The sleeves each have two slash-like cut-outs, one on the upper arm and the other from approx the point of the elbow downward. There are square drapes at the ends of the sleeves with gold coins around the points. There are 3 slits up to about knee level, on the sides and at center front, all edged with the gold coins, which also go across the hem. The armpits are not open, but had I used this, I would have changed that. Should be just a matter of opening the seam and finishing the edges. The seam allowances are quite adequate for this. The sides of the dress have open bead-crochet ladders continuing on up to waist level (did I mention sexy?).
This is a stretch fabric but it is not the uber-stretchy lycra that some costumes are made of. Armpit to armpit measured flat, unstretched, is 18" (x 2 = 36"). Given the center opening (which just falls open to reveal one's lovely cleavage) I think this could up to a 40" bust. The width at hip level unstretched, including the ladder opening, is 18-1/2". I think this could go up to a 39" hip but wouldn't recommend going much beyond that. The length at center back is 54-1/2", plus the coin trim which adds another 1-1/2". There's a matching head scarf which is 8-3/4" x 36".
