3 NEW BO STAFFS Hardwood/Rattan + deluxe carrying case
Are there any martial artists out there, even the soft style kind? I wasn't sure about posting this here, and I hope it's ok. Since I'd previously sold Spanish Flamenco DVD's and something else I can't recall, which really had nothing to do with belly dancing; I figured, what the heck, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
I purchased 3 BO staffs from California for $150.00 and never used them really except for a few "unfortunate" 360 spins with the ashwood...(such a waste) even tho' I've been practicing soft style martial artforms for 20+ years. My focus of attention has been in the area of swords, open handed t'ai chi, chi kung (qigong) and not in staffs. The staffs are made of quality hardwood and rattan with designs running through the wood and are really beautiful looking! The description follows:
3 NEW martial arts BO STAFFS for sale, all natural, high quality hardwood, balanced and smooth spinning for great techniques, and tough enough for the rigors of daily training!
The natural colored blue OAK hardwood staff is 72 inches in length with 1 1/2 inch diameter at center and tapers to 1 inch at both ends. It features an awesome hand-painted tiger in the center. The very end of the staff is rounded to prevent splitting.
The ASH hardwood staff is 66 inches with 1 3/4 inch diameter at center and tapers to 1 1/4 inch at both ends. It features a dark oak design in the center, which spans outward in four elongated point-like patterns. The very end of the staff is rounded.
The third staff is made of all natrual RATTAN, which is a form of bamboo. It is lightweight and flexible yet incredibly strong and durable. It is 60 inches long, 1 3/4 inch diameter with rounded ends, no taper. It features an spiral burn pattern with authentic carvings.
The black carrying case has an adjustable shoulder strap with hook and loop closures. It can hold up to 3 staffs. It has a red thick felt-like interior to protect the hardwood staffs. The case is also great for carrying swords, and can hold up to 3 swords.
Selling price for 4 items: $75.00 + shipping. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! CAN ONLY SHIP TO CANADA OR US! As for shipping, it would have to be calculated on a per area (Canada/US) basis and most likely with UPS.

Oh, we have a soft style martial artist on board! Very cool! The staffs are new and in mint condition! If I had the time to learn this artform as it should properly be learned, I would've done so by now. The reason I bought them is because I was in-the-process of writing an article on staffs for Inside Kung Fu. I thought I'd buy them, learn how to use them real fast then have photos illustrating various positions and drills. As it turned out, the article was published, and the pictures that accompanied the article featured some photogenic, hard bodied guy, who looked like he came down from the mountains of Tibet! He used his own staffs for the pics, thus; he was the editor's choice in lieu of the fact that I didn't deliver on the photos. I believe he made the article more authentic looking: i.e; mountain man vs. 5' 3" small-boned, fair skinned woman from the Great White Northland in a polar bear suit, lol! In the end, it was all good: We had our 15 minutes of fame and got paid, hehe. You don't necessarily have to practice an artform to write about it, that is if you do the research, but it really does help.

Re: 3 NEW BO STAFFS Hardwood/Rattan + deluxe carrying case
If the shipping cost to Australia wouldn't kill me I'd buy these in a second - I'm a black belt in taekwondo and am about to start learning the bo staff - and I would love the tiger one! But I think the cost of sending these Down Under would be scarier than being beaten up with one...

hiya, if you give me your zip code, i can check shipping costs. however, i wouldn't split the bo's up - they come as 3 in the carrying case. but for that price considering what one BO is selling for on the net or on ebay...it's cheap
lol, as far as getting beaten up with a BO, been there done it. i actually did practice a few times with one of the BO's - the ashwood. I was demonstrating a series of three 360 degree spins with it for a friend, an ex-flame, and stupidly I hadn't warmed my muscles up first, which is so important to do!!! Low n' behold, I ripped the performis muscle under my right ass cheek, it got all twisted around the sciatic nerve, thus, inflaming it to near death, and i ended up with a severe case of sciatica for several months. i developed a "BO phobia" and never touched a BO in that regard again. They don't call staffs "lethal weapons" for nothing, lol. You gotta' know how to use them.
My niece's hubby, who knows nothing about martial artforms, wanted to buy them...but i wouldn't let him. He came over one night to look at them, picked one up and started swinging it around like he was Tarzan in some imaginary jungle. I told him, "put that down right now, or you're gonna' end up killin' yerself, mister." He was really bummed, but I think I might've saved him some misery.

ruta, if you're serious, i might consider holding the staffs in their case, where they now lie, for you for another month. i'm in no rush to sell them, they're so damn beautiful! i should consider just keeping them and looking at them every once in a while, lol, but realistically speaking, i have no time to learn the staff nor the desire to do so. i'm heavy into choreographing new routines for my performances and in the theatrical sense of performance. i already had a "very successful" festival peformance this past Sunday and with 4 new routines I had just choreographed and learned. This all gave me a new injection and boost of energy and self-assuredness on this new road i'm travelling. now i want to take my "theatrical in nature" bellydance and dance fusion show "all the way" and right into suitable clubs, venues and anywhere else i can panhandle them, imao. i have so many creative ideas these days, i can barely contain them within my noggin.' i'm also going to get back into writing soft style martial arts articles this winter, so my time's already el pffffffffft-o. it's become apparent to me that i'm the happiest, the most fullfilled, the most energized these days when my head's in an artistic creative mode.
so let me know.

Re: 3 NEW BO STAFFS Hardwood/Rattan + deluxe carrying case
What the heck, my post code is Australia 7307 (that's Latrobe, Tasmania). I'd be interested to see how much it will cost to send ... what a bummer the Aussie dollar has crashed and burned this month, the exchange rate makes such a difference.

Are you sitting down? The only way to send such a long package (80 inches) is by UPS. The cost as per weight and dimensions to Austrailia..are you ready for this...is....$347.00. Un-friggin'-believable. Can't ship staffs internationally. Only to Canada or US

Re: 3 NEW BO STAFFS Hardwood/Rattan + deluxe carrying case
OMG, that's an unbelievable price! I think Ill go back to using a goold old broomstick! Thanks so much for looking into this for me, but I'm going to pass on this one. Scary. Hey if you don't sell them, I'm coming to Canada next year, maybe it might be cheaper to transport them in person ...
Thanks
