the little gizmo that the bottom of the Ipod plugs onto... is it about an inch long? I'm asking because you mention the shuffle, mini and nano but not the regular iPod.. I have a 3G 20GB fullsize model.

Sorry, I had to measure my plug in thingy...it measures just over 3/4"...Is that about right?

measured w/ tape measure ust a hair bigger than 3/4
