Are they low rise? When you say 39" length is that total length? What is the inseam measurement? My upper hip is 39, lower 42, do you think these would work for me? I am interested.

They are not low rise. I suppose you could wear them on the waist. I tend to push them just below.I have a long torso.They 291/2" inside leg, Your hip is fine..my lower is 43"
I've got a pair of these and I love them but I can see why you had to shorten them. I had to take mine up a ridiculous amount before I could use them in anger.
