Please join us for an outstanding evening of performances, potluck
dinner, and a really amazing silent auction to benefit our local
friend/sister/bellydancer/instructor--Carolee Cameron.

Carolee was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. A week ago she had
a mastectomy to remove her right breast. After she heals completely
from the surgery she will be facing chemotherapy as well as radiation
treatments.Carolee has been a tremendous asset to our local Vegas bellydance community. She used to teach regular ATS classes, has attended many haflas, has taught at the Intensive twice, and has done nearly all of the graphic art work for the 2008 Intensive. She is an amazing woman who remains positive and cheery throughout this ordeal. Carolee is planning on attending the hafla... so feel free to bring get-well cards for her if you feel inclined.

Yasmin Diab is handling the donations for the silent auction. Her email is (yasmindiab @ embarqmail . com) if you have any additional questions. Feel free to bring items to donate, but please email Yasmin ahead of time so she can make up a bid sheet.

I want to offer a big heart-felt thanks to our community for coming out to Carolee's hafla last night. I think we had nearly 100 people attend and through donations and the silent auction we were able to raise $990 for Carolee!!

I want to thank Yasmin Diab for organizing the silent auction. I know she was pretty excited last night that we raised so much money. She did an excellent job putting it all together.

I also want to thank Carolee for attending. She is such an inspiration to me. She is always so positive despite the setbacks she has had. I know she was touched to have the community come out to support her. She said that she feels like this is her family. *sniff* I know how she feels. I love our Vegas belly community.

I don't have a list of everyone who donated, but I have to say thank you to everyone who donated items to the silent auction. I believe Johara (out of Florida) donated 4 or 5 beautiful hip scarves. It was especially touching to see the out-of-state donations from people who have never even met Carolee. (Yasmin, if you have a link to Johara's store I think it would be nice to post it here).

Also, thanks to the many performers last night. It was so great to have so many people share their art with us. That was fabulous.

I know there were many who were unable to attend, but I also want to thank everyone who has prayed, meditated, sent healing energy, or held a positive thought for Carolee. I am grateful that there are so many of you who want to share you love!
