Oshun’s Touch: Costuming Workshop
With Mintaka and Sanaa
June 8th from 2-4pm at the Westfield Yoga Center, Westfield Massachusetts
Oshun is the Goddess of beauty and adornment. As bellydancers we love to adorn ourselves beautifully with sparkly, sequined, and coined costumes! This can often get extremely expensive, or sometimes we can’t find the right size or fit for our bodies. This workshop is designed to help solve that problem.
This will be the first of two costuming making workshops that will teach you how to take your store bought undergarment, and turn it into a fabulous, stage ready, caberet, triberet, or tribal bra!. In this workshop we will show you how to design bras that will flatter different body types, draft a pattern, reinforce, and cover the bra. The date for part 2 is to TBA and the topics covered will be how to embellish your costume- beading techniques, adding fringe, and using differnet materials to create design motifs and make your costume sparkle!
We will be offering two price options for this workshop:
Option #1: $15 for workshop only
You will provide your own costuming materials, we will send you a preparation handout that will let you know what you need to bring.
Option #2: $30 for workshop and materials
Just bring a well fitting bra and we will provide the rest including fabric (we will let you know the color options to choose from), needles, thread, elastic etc.
