Haha...My bathroom enterance..I will be touring and exiting bathrooms all across the United States!
You are such a beautiful dancer, and you were looked so incredibly happy at your party. DJ IC..fabulous music, as always. I was nursing the tail end of my migraine, sorry I was poopy, but I enjoyed your party tremendously. I really enjoyed the monkey were were beating to the ground then hugging tenderly to our ears to listen to him scream! I'm still giggling about that.
And the cake was Yummy!!

And to think, your nation-wide tour started in my little home! Squee!
To tell the truth, I couldn't think of a single wish when I blew out the candles on my cake...I was surrounded by friends and loved ones, I got to dance my little heart out, drink lots of wine and eat yummy cake! What more could I possibly need?!?

Hey, I'm going to Bristol soon to see El Genneyya dance. What vendors have cool bellydance stuff this year? Anybody with vintage ethnic jewelery or bd-useful clothing? Is the "Nomadia" vendor there this year?

Yes, Nomadia is there (next to the Tuscany Tavern). I've given them quite a bit of my hard earned money so far!
There's one vendor with vintage ethnic jewelry but I don't recall the name of the little kiosk. I think it is their first year at the Faire. The prices were a bit high but their stuff is lovely (center of Shoplatch Lane).
If you like costume jewelry for cabaret or tribaret outfits, check out the Land of Kush (down Shoplatch Lane). I always find some nice sparklies there for really decent prices.
Hope to see you at the drum jam!
Kara

I've never been to the Bristol Ren Faire before. I plan to go this Sunday, the 22nd. Can you gals tell me where/when any drum jams are? Are there a lot of "playtrons" at the faire (i.e., will I be in good company if I wear a costume?)? Anything else I should know? :)

I handed over QUITE A LOT of money to Desiree at Nomadia on Saturday! What wonderful stuff! And it fit me so well. But I didn't get a belt... not quite my style... now I have to find something else that goes with the outfit!

Darn! I didn't see this until just now. Did you find the drum jam okay? I was there but due to the heat and too much wine, I don't remember very much!

Oh, cool. What did you get? Any pictures of you in it yet?
I bought the white lace dress and the silver and black vest. I already had a black and silver lace belt to wear (i.e. I made the belt using Tempest's 5-panel pattern). I went back another weekend and got the long black fishnet dress. I won't be there this weekend but hopefully next weekend they will have the keyhole vest I want. Not that I should spend any more money!

No photos til I have a belt... didn't think of making a corset belt to go with this, but sounds like a great idea. Is the pattern hard?
I bought the black harem pants, a burgundy entari shirt with the sleeve drapes, and a gold-and-burgundy keyhole vest.
I was looking at the Sharifwear bedouin belt to go with... but I just don't feel like shelling out $90 for it, I'm afraid, especially on a one-size-fits-all item.
Only problem... I can't wait to WEAR this somewhere... and I don't know if I'll make it back to faire this summer... ARGH!

Oh no. I didn't see this in time. Did you go? There were alot of local dancers there that day. We had a tribal meetup. We danced all day. Did you find everything okay? Next time you plan on going let us know and we'll be sure to meet up. I'll keep a better eye on this thread.

Anyone going this Sunday? I've got the Sphinx Hafla on Saturday (8/4) so I plan to stay home and practice that day.

Dang! Sunday was one very wet, muddy day at Faire.
Anyone going next weekend? I'm shooting for Sunday again (8/12).
Hope to see you there!

I'll be there. Don't forget to attend the drum jam at 6:15 p.m. by the wizard statue.
