Well, as usual, very interesting costumes showing up!
Who is the woman wearing the boy shorts with the shear dress over it dancing with the Folkloric guys??
LOL, I saw some very brief costumes this time . . . one woman had such a short skirt and half her bra was flesh toned, LOL, so from a distance it looks like she fell out of her bra!!! You can see it when you get a closer look . . .
I always worry when I see Dina's costums because I think she is just going to pop out!

Many, many pictures...
You who did participate or otherwise know, can you tell who are the dancers?
Not all of them, there are far too many pictures for that, but please name some,
and yourself if there.
It looks like standing on a tabla was very popular this time, but who was the shocking person Maria Aya described in her notes about the festival?

Catherine: you must be referring to Fatima, she is a new Egyptian dancer. She is young and I have been told by a reliable source that she is actually a slut and Egyptians refer to her as a "tart." I have also been told that in person, her boob job looks really bad. Anyway, yes she wears short costumes. They are by Sahar. I do like the blue one with the flesh covered mesh nylon part. The bra must be covered in flesh colored canvas or spandex with the mesh nylon on top, so even though it appears see-through, its not. See you in TX!

then she is also the one who carries the dress which I would call
" costume inspired by Antoni Gaudi" as it looks like his artwork in Barcelona
I mean this one
http://www.nilegroup.net/pages/IMG_2296April07_JPG.htm
Is she a good dancer?

I thought when Christina responded that she was talking about the dancer wearing the short skirt with the bra that was half blue/half flesh toned . . .
http://www.nilegroup.net/pages/IMG_3145April07_JPG.htm
Are these both Fatima? Looks very similar . . long black hair, etc. But the angle one has the face a bit covered.
This is the dancer that I asked about in my post above . . . the one in the shorts and see-thru dress.

Nope the 2 first links posted from habibiyaaini and heinaku
example
http://www.nilegroup.net/pages/IMG_2307April07_JPG.htm
is not Fatima, is Nena a young new dancer from Alexandria, seemed very sweet on stage, and danced great.
Fatima is this one:
http://www.nilegroup.net/pages/IMG_3145April07_JPG.htm
and yes she is the one with the cowboy hat
She dance very well, just little fast for my taste.
For me the best dancer (except Lucy and Liza Laziza who are at other level) of the festival (and not speaking for the student part that really the level was extremly good) was Hanady.
The costumes special the ones that Egyptian dancers was wearing was from risky to tacky to outragious with few exceptions only (Liza Laziza and Hanady for all their changings of costumes, and some of the galabia/saidi style for the rest).
Having here to say that the students had MUCH more taste in costumes, and not so risky/tacky, actualy one after the other we were admiring wonderfull costumes.

The dancer in your link wearing the half blue and half flesh mesh nylon mini costume (and also appears in the red mini skirt costume with cowboy hat) is Fatima. Her costumes are both by Sahar.

I'm considering ordering it! I love it and am trying to incorporate more mini skirt costumes into my repetoire as they are more comfortable especially when doing kicks and arabesques and big leg lifts, the long skirt doesn't get in the way. See you soon in TX.

I feel sorry for this Fatima being called "slut" ,but then that`s the way it is in Egypt if don`t happen to be a famous bellydancer
I did not have the luck to see her dance, but i`m sure she does it wonderfully.
Need to add that by the same rule, all the others(don`t count myself cause i don`t dance professionally, only hobbyst)without the Dina or Lucy fame are regarded the same way by Egyptians.Lest not forget!!!

Yes, don't shoot the messenger, I am only reporting what a prominent member of the Cairo dance community told me.

Catherine: I won't be ordering it after all. I thought it was by Sahar, she just confrimed that she didn't make the costume. I think it may be Hallah Moustafa as I know Hallah made some of the costumes that Fatima wore the first two times she danced at the Nile Festival.

Dear Catherine: no, I don't actually, but I have communicated with them so frequently that I have their cell, studio, fax and e-mail addresses pratically memorized!
