Yay! finally found you all!
:) Hello!
My name is Tanith and I'm SO glad to have finally been introduced to the most complete and fantastic group of bellydancers online! The forum here is a veritable gold mine of wisdom and advice for the beginning bellydancer. I can't wait to meet more of you personally!
I'm a student of amazing Ava Fleming, and so I dance classical Egyptian cabaret (gotta love the sequins!! lol). Based the the Phoenix area, I've only been dancing for 1.5 years, but I love to dance and practice a lot, so I would consider myself to be (hopefully!) an "intermediate" level dancer. I'm just breaking into the local restaurant scene, so please wish me luck! (I'm going to need it, lol!)
Bellydance has really changed my life in ways I didn't think possible. Well, maybe "changed" isn't quite as accurate as "united." I've always been deeply in love with the arts, as well as middle eastern music, and bellydance was one of those things I'd always known I wanted to do, so it just seemed like a natural next step. Of course, like any girl, I love the costumes and sparkle, but the grace and elegant femininity is what has attracted me to the dance. (But I love the fact that it can be flirty and fun, too! ^_^)
It's always been a challenge for me to fit dance (and all other sorts of art) into my schedule - studying engineering, balancing friends/works, and fostering two puppies leaves little time to oneself, but my free time is usually spent bellydancing, if that tells you how much it means to me! Truthfully,
I get my inspiration to dance from art, life, my teachers, and my friends - especially the ones who bellydance! The ASU bellydance girls are an incredible bunch of young ladies!
Basically, I really look forward to meeting all of you lovely bellydancers and hearing your stories about how you got started, what the dance has meant to you, and any crazy dance stories you might want to tell!
PM me whenever - I'm online a lot and would love to chat. :)
