A big hello to everyone! I've heard about this forum for a long time but I've only joined now because I have time...I'm in love with all the posts here...it seems like I won't have anything to ask because it's all been covered. *hearts the search funtion*.

Name real and dance is Ishtar and I'm 19 years old. I've been learning since I was about 7-8 and my main style is Egyptian but I like my poi and swords VERY much. I'm also branching out and exploring different styles now that I have some serious money :P

I have been teaching belly dance for about 2 years and performing for 4 years so expect lots of questions about teaching from me!

I'm also currently learning how to make my own costumes but my first attempts are something I wouldn't curse my worst enemy with...so lots of improvement on that front :P

Welcome Ishtar. Will enjoy hearing about your experiences from your part of the world. You have a beautiful name and so appropriate for Dance - all styles.

Good for you starting to create your own costumes, I know many Belly dancers do and create some awesome things. I alas don't have any patience when it comes to such things and I want it "yesterday". If I was beading something I may finish it in 20 yrs if I was lucky. I am sure you will end up creating beautiful items to wear proudly.
