Hi,

My BHUZ name is Gothique, I live in Florida.

I used to belly dance years ago, had to quit due to pain problems.

I'm trying to get back into dancing, and teaching myself new steps, and veil techniques. I'm only dancing for myself, and hoping it will help with some of the pain I'm in.
I'm fairly new to forums.
I'm so happy to find BHUZ!
I hope to make new friends, and learn more!

Okay, it sounded familiar. I used to visit my mom down there--she lived in Ellenton, a few miles east of Sarasota, and we'd travel up and down the coast. I seem to remember seeing exits to New Port Richey.

Anyway, wow! Sounds like some serious physical issues you have to deal with! I would suggest taking it *very easy*, especially with anything that stresses old injuries. Shimmies can be hard on a body. But, I'd guess anything goes as long as it doesn't hurt. Do you or have you worked with a PT?

No, nothing so severe. I was sent to a PT for a pinched nerve in my neck years ago, and they fixed me right up (after a lot of screwing around by physicians and chiros), so I'm a fan. :-)
