Hello from DFW!
Just a quick intro: I've been actively dancing since 1991; however, my first exposure to Belly Dance was in 1974 when I saw Dahlena's book: The Art of Bellydance. Living in a small town, I did the best I could to teach myself bellydance from her book....was somewhat successful in a few moves.
Over the years I took a few community lessons until I actually could afford on-going lessons in Winston-Salem in 1991. In 2000 I moved back to Texas and up until mid-2007 I was studying and teaching at a local studio.
Due to a shoulder injury, I've not been doing much since August 2007, but I am getting better and hoping to get back into the swing of things!
I miss the learning, the teaching, the performing, but most of all, I miss the FUN!
I have been reading Bhuz for several years - every 5/6 months I would have a few minutes to check out the top 10 or posts, but due the intensity of my former job, never had the time or energy to read/post.
I'm looking forward to being more active!
Thank you for having such a wonderful site!
