Re: Auditions

From YouTube link in post #67 I found the last 2 sentences of the following quote quite revealing - and disturbing. I quoted the entire post so no-one would think it was out of context.

About me:
Tell me, when you see public displays of affection, do you often line up with the delusion that you are next? --------------------------- Careful: May inspire debauchery! As a kid, most were often told they couldn't play with me because I watched Benny Hill from as early as I can remember. I knew the urban legend of the woman who was giving her boyfriend a blow-job while he was driving, they got in an accident, and she bit it off at the moment of impact since I was in 1st grade...and it was told to me by my mother. Some even couldn't play with me because Mom let us watch "Dallas," let alone Benny Hill. I am also derisive because my father owned several strip clubs, my mom had been a stripper, so was his ex and two of their daughters...and, what's most contemptible to the prevalent perception - my father was 29 years older than my mother. "I am fueled by filth and fury." You've been warned...

Re: Auditions

There is so much good advice in this thread...unfortunately, I think it was bypassed by the OP. It was not in vain though, so many people read these threads but never post.

I think everyone should go read the Wikipeida article on LaVeyan Satanism because it would clear up a lot of misunderstandings :) Unfortunately the way LaVey and his followers decide to present themselves is not really conducive to them being taken seriously. But anyway, I digress. That's not what this thread is about, I just had to pop in and offer my two cents on that topic.

I saw TeenaByrd's videos on youtube a while ago and was... ahem... disturbed to say the least. This thread has been entertaining but I'm reaching for the brain bleach right about now. I hope this is a joke, and if not, I hope Teena wakes up to reality soon

Re: Auditions

AT LEAST the youtube videos aren't tagged as belly dance (unlike some "dancers" that are on there).

:

Im glad somebody said it. LaVey was actually pretty wise. A lot of the principals and guidelines of LaVeyan Satanism are common sense/practical suggestions for living the most successful fulfilled life you can and are some of the same (albeit reworded) principals used by motivational speakers and even some Christian televangelists.

Re: Auditions

All weirdness aside, I've been dancing for four years now and have been mentoring with a very experienced dancer for the past year. Even with all that hard work, her and I would both agree that I'm not quite there yet. I highly recommend a mentoring program for anyone interested in dancing professionally. Not only does she help me with refining technique, stage presence, etc. but she's also been invaluable in answering many of my questions regarding the in's and out's of how this business operates, from a dancer's point-of-view.

[quote=shems;502513]part 2

Since from your last point it seems unlikely that you really want to seek a teacher or mentor for further advice, I'm going to give you this, free of charge, for your own benefit and safety.

2- We live in an area with a lot of diplomats and ambassadors. They have something called diplomatic immunity. This means that should one of them hire you to dance in their room and they decide to rape you, you have zero legal recourse. They could kill you and they wouldn't be held accountable, not by our govt, and possibly not their own.

Sorry to go off topic, but I've just read this thread and I find this more disturbing than anything else! Is this correcet? Wow my mind has just blown! In a bad way!

Yes, this is very true. Diplomatic immunity is a scary thing.

These are pretty harsh criticisms to swallow. Maybe in time the truths in them will sink in.

I try to have hope for everyone.
I agree. The comment that I made was cautionary and if TeenaByrd read it, I hope it was interpreted as such. I hope that she will know the criticism comes from people who are trying to enlighten/educate, not tear down/hate. TeenaByrd if you're out there... good luck to you.
