I need to be stopped...

Hi everyone!

Seriously, I need to be stopped with the "buying costume pieces" issue I have.

:)

so I just picked up this lovely coin belt:
http://scheherezadeimports.com/items...720-detail.htm

And the bra should be coming soon.

Here's my question:
The links are not the strongest...I'd like to sew it on to a "belt" of some kind, but I'm really dumb when it comes to sewing. What kind of fabric should I use? honestly, I just want something that I can tie, like a hip scarf, but something strong enough to hold the weight of the coins.

Any ideas? :)
(I'll also need suggestions for attaching the bra to some fabric as well.) :)

Thanks all! ;)

Somebody stop me, please!
(Dahlal is vending at the Yasmina Ramzy workshop this weekend...I could be in BIG trouble!)

STOP it

And now to your questions. I would take whatever fabrik you like and double it. If necessary even add another layer (of strong cotton or something) in the part where you sew on the coins. This way the pieces that you will tie will not be too thick.

Happy sewing

You can always add stability to your belt by layering some wide grosgrain ribbon inside it. It's really easy to handle and quite strong.

I searched for you and found this site. I would get one of these fab. belts and stitch the coin belt onto one of these belts. Depending if you wanted the whole tribal look. The shapes are flattering to any figure.

Those are WAY cute!
I'm kind of going for a "simpler" look though...but for future costumes... ;)
I'm totally going to bookmark that link. ;)
